Sasini Tea and Coffee
Vision:
To be a leader in producing and serving quality tea, coffee and related products to the world.

Mission:
To ensure production, processing and marketing of quality tea and coffee to Kenya and the world with emphasis on environmental conservation, social responsibility, applying latest technology, value addition to existing products, exploring possibilities of diversifying and/or expanding our productive activities to horticulture, forestry, dairy farming and crops of medicinal value, with a view to achieving maximum returns to our stakeholders,
while putting utmost care to the interest of our distinguished customers and conforming to good corporate governance.

Sustaining people and earning large amounts of foreign exchange.
Sasini Tea and Coffee Ltd., a public listed company quoted on the Nairobi Stock Exchange, is a dominant force in the sector – with over 2,000 hectares under production and employing over 4,000 staff - and represents the Sameer Group’s interests in Tea, Coffee, Forestry, Dairy, Horticulture and Tourism.

Serving Tea And Coffee To The World- A Flourishing Tea Business

With active participation in the weekly Mombasa Tea Auction, Sasini supplies increasingly large volumes of tea to all major global tea markets.

The company’s two factories, Kipkebe and Keritor, have been refurbished, and machinery upgraded - better enabling the factories to produce teas of consistent quality.

Sasini teas have a good reputation locally and internationally - a significant proportion is sold in the local auctions, eventually finding its way to Europe, the Middle East, Egypt and Pakistan. With such a strong footing in the industry, Sasini is geared up to venture into profitable partnerships, not just in the traditional areas of growing and manufacture, but also in value addition (blending, branding and packaging) and exports.

A Strong Coffee Operation
Sasini’s coffee plantations extend all the way from Nairobi’s outskirts to the 6000ft foothills of Mt. Kenya. In eight major estates in these stunning landscapes, we cultivate and harvest the world’s finest coffee – Arabica. The coffee beans are wet , processed and sold by size. The best Kenyan coffee sells at a premium – but with good reason. Kenya coffee is prized worldwide for its flavour, body and rich aroma - making it a consistently fast mover at the weekly Nairobi auctions.

Gearing Up For The Future

In readiness for increased levels of tea and coffee production, we have enhanced storage and warehouse facilities at Mombasa. To market our increased output, Sasini has recently acquired Aristocrats Coffee & Tea Exporters Ltd., a licensed tea and coffee dealer whose task will be to aggressively market our products to the international blending houses and reach the end consumer. Armed with modern facilities, strong alliances and years of experience in the tea and coffee sectors, Sasini remains the partner of choice for all those wishing to invest in these gainful sectors.

Showing Off Kenya To The World

In Kenya, another major earner of foreign exchange, in addition to agriculture, is tourism. Sasini has major interests in this vibrant sector – being part owner of the Aberdare Country Club and the Ark, two of Kenya’s premier tourist attractions located on the Aberdare Ridges in the Mt. Kenya region. Both destinations are extremely popular with tourists, and Sasini’s involvement means the company is well placed to offer advice and assistance to anyone interested in venturing into Kenya’s tourist industry – one of the most successful and dynamic sectors of the economy.

Building Kenya with every step
No matter how diverse our interests, or how busy we get in the normal course of business, there are things Sasini does not compromise on, including product quality and the responsible stewardship of the environment.

We comply with all labour laws regarding women and minors, provide full medical cover for all employees and run schools for their children.

Casting The Net

Always happy to set out into new markets, the company is keeping a keen eye on non-traditional markets for tea and coffee such as Eastern Europe, Middle East, India and the Americas. We will also continue to aggressively pursue and develop partner ventures within our core business. The quality and quantity of our products and the areas of value addition, diversification and marketing all remain the focus of our attention as we aim to ensure sound returns for all shareholders and partners.

Environment Policy:
The company is sensitive to issues related to the environment in its areas of operation. Vast tracts of our land are under forestation – contributing positively to water catchment and micro-climatic aspects where they exist.
